The premium hotel chain Four Seasons generated the most buzz at Monaco Yacht Week when it announced the formation of Four Seasons Yachts during a big reveal at the Monaco Oceanographic Museum. Its first superyacht will be a mind-blowing 200 metres and will make its debut in 2025.
The project joins an increasing number of on-land hotels and resorts that are using their own Yachts for private charters and group sailings.
Promoted features of the ominous, 95-guestroom Four Seasons ship with 14 decks, a 65-foot pool, 200 staff members on board, and a stunning, four-level “Pipe Suite” house with 9,600 square feet of living space and a private pool and Jacuzzi.
Reservations will start to be taken by the end of 2023, and the first trip is expected to depart by the end of 2025.
The shipbuilder has been chosen to be the Italian firm Four Seasons Fincantieri, and Marc-Henry Cruise Holdings is a partner in its operations with Four Seasons Yachts.
Then, in the ensuing two years—in late 2026 and late 2027, respectively—two sister ships will launch.
The combined price of the three ships was US$1.2 billion.
One of the most crucial ways to differentiate this product from luxury cruises is the fact that the vessels will be staffed and operated exactly like a hotel in its group.
The ship will provide each visitor a totally unique schedule in the yachting way rather than a selection of prearranged daily activities.
The Four Seasons Yachts brand expansion isn’t the only player in this emerging category. Evrima, the first of three ships in the Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection, will make her debut this year. Each ship will include 149 guest apartments, each with a private deck and space for two.
The next two ships in the fleet will make their debuts in 2024 and 2025, respectively, and the Ritz-Carlton yachts will also be available for private charter.
Aman has launched Project Sama, a 600-foot, 50-suite superyacht created by SINOT Yacht Architecture & Design.
When it sets sail in 2025, it will join Aman’s existing flagship boat, the 170-foot, two-masted phinisi sailing ship Amandira located in Indonesia.
